Its over! After six years of action and adventure, romance and comedy, tragedy and loss, it has come to an end.

And I have no idea what just happened.

(SPOILERS) (SPOILERS)

Seriously, they end the show with Christian Shepherd just walking into a light and everyone hugging and being like "Lets Go!". Was it supposed to be like some sort of heaven?

I was glad that everyone got to see eachother though. Desmond was with Penny, Charlie with Claire (BTW, I always knew he would come back!), etc..... I wasn't to happy about the whole Shannon and Sayid thing going on. I mean, come on Sayid, how can you forget your love of your life, Nardia (no idea how to spell that) and Shannon seems like a player. But thats just me. I was sad she died so yeah....

Jack is my hero! He has had his ups and downs, but he came through. I thought it was neat that the first episode of LOST ever was of Jack opening his eye, and then the last episode was him closing it. I cried.

I hate that it is not coming back next year, it was always like the highlight of my week.

But, I will enjoy watching all seasons over the summer, crying and laughing, with my bestie!

(She hasn't seem them yet, and I'm really hoping she will watch them with me!)

A New Day

This is the last week. A new chapter in my life begins. A new journey takes place. Highschool.
Ok, I'll admit I'm being dramatic! But this Friday, is my last day of Middle School! I will never have to be a middle schooler again!
Praise God! I can't wait till highschool! Well I can wait, I'll have the whole summer to get ready for it. I'm going to an all girls private school. Its going to be really neat! I'm not so big on the all girls part, but other than that, the academics are amazing. (not to mention the extra circular activities - art, music, theater...*not sports!*) So, I'm syked. I'm having a graduation party - i think. My sister is hinting that she is throwing me a surprise one. So I keep hinting back things like "I love sleepovers!" or "Mariah, these cups would be awesome for a party!" and "Wouldn't this dish look great with some chips and dip in it?" and even "Balloons are the bomb. I LOVE balloons."
So we both know what we are tallking about we just aren't saying out loud. :D

Sunny Days and Nicholas Sparks

This week has been amazing. Gorgeous. Beautiful!! Its been really hot, perfect for tanning! But all week I have been really busy so I decided I would make time for tanning outside today. Of course, now its all windy and chilly. So there goes my late afternoon!

I do have some really exciting news though!

I get my braces off tomorrow!

YAY!

I have waited 1 1/2 years, and finally they will be off!! Now, I won't have to wear them in highschool. Which wouldn't be that bad but I'm sooo ready for them to be off. :D

Oh, so last Thursday I saw The Last Song with my friend. Sunday I saw it again. This week I read the book. Saturday I'm seeing it with some of my other friends! Yay! I love the book! It was sooo much better than the movie. Without the book, the movie was kinda cheesy and shallow. But now that I have read the book, I love it sooo much more!! I'm trying to go through a lot of Nicholas Sparks books.

Ok, I'm editing my post to give you the long-awaited update. Right.

Right now, my sister and her friend are rocking out to Hot n' Cold by Katie Perry. We got the Just Dance Wii Game and it has the song. LOVE IT!

I love spring! Especially spring break! I went shopping this week to some favorite consignment stores. I got a cute American Eagle Skirt and some really cute shorts. I love clothes!! :D

Tomorrow, I think I might go see the Last Song. It looks sooo cute!

I'm making a goal to read all the Nicholas Sparks books over summer break. I've already read the Notebook, and I got the Last Song out at the library but I haven't gotten to read it yet.

Spring Fever (and, of course, Saint Paddys Day)

I've the term a lot. But I wasn't exactly sure what it meant....so heres a definition from Anwsers.com: A feeling of restlessness, excitement, or laziness brought on by the coming of spring.

So, thats how I feel right now. And its only March! I can't imagine what April and May are going to be like! I can't wait for sunny days, bathing suits, beach trips, and last but certainly not least, NO SCHOOL!! Its not that I don't enjoy learning or anything, its just that as the year progresses, my interest in my subjects decrease. And I can't help thinking of highschool that I'm going to next year.

Hmmm...still not sure where I'm going. I have to places to choose from. Public or Private. We need to receive some financial aid from the private highschool. I really leaning towards the public highschool for various reason. Ok enough about me!! Because blogging is never just about you, its about everyone else. Right. Blogging is soooo just about you. (as in me!). Confused.....

Ok, so Saint Paddys Day is today. And I know your dying to hear an amazingly interesting fact about it. Here we go.

So did you know that St. Patrick's favorite color was actually blue? Not many people in Ireland loved it. It wasn't until the 19th century that it became the official color! Crazy stuff, huh?

Well I did absolutely nothing for this special day. (I did read a book about St. Patrick though!) I was going to make cookies and put green icing on them but I went to a friends house and jumped on the trampoline and hung out. I did, in fact, where green!! Woohoo!! Green shirt and green flip flops. 2 Stars!! Yeah!

Busy Weekend

An adrenaline rush, how great is that? Its especially fun when your doing it with skis and going 50mph down an icey slope. Wow! It was great! I don't think I actually went that fast but it still felt pretty fast to me!! This is my second year skiing and last year I just did the Easy Street and Little Nell at Sugar Mt, because I wasn't ready for too much speed or any hard slopes. Thursday, I went with my best friends and I actually did an intermediate slope. I'm not sure if I did a couple or just one, because there was this one slope and it had a blue sticker for intermediate but my friends said it was easy. It was just very different from Easy Street and the other ones. But it my mind it was intermediate! But it doesn't really matter. Even if I had only done a hard easy one (does that make since!?!?!) I still had an amazing time!! One slope I did was really steep at the beginning and I went sooooo fast!! I was really surprised. The main reason I went so fast is because I have a hard time slowing down. Some times I think I'm doing the pizza wedge but I'm really not...Sooooo, you can imagine how that could turn out!!!

Yesterday (Friday) I slept in and was really exhausted from the skiing experience. I still worked out and then we had some people over for dinner which was really nice! We had a nice roast with mash potatoes and then they brought a vegetable dish and dessert. The dessert was sooo good!! It was brownies, gram crackers, marshmallow fluff, and more.... Oh.my.gosh. I tried, I really did. But it looked soo good. So I had a piece. I'm supposed to be giving up dessert for lent. I am failing miserably. But I guess it shows us how hard it is to give up something so small compared to what God gave up for us, His only son. So I'm really going to try harder!!!

Today, or this morning, I'm going to go to a Bible Study with some other girls. Its a really nice time. Its small, so it can be more personal and stuff. After that I have some plans with my friends and I might see Dear John!! I want to see that movie really badly!!!! Okay, well I guess I will talk to you guys later....

Birthday Party, Baking Et Weekend

Ok, so I threw a suprise birthday party for my bestie, Abby!! We did facials and made pizza and drank Hawaiian Punch and Sprite till our hearts content!! I made some simple white cupcakes with blue frosting and a pink 'A' on each one!! Just to make sure I had enough food, I served Brown Sugar Chews (like blond brownies), chips and dip, and carrots and ranch. Lets just say I ate my share of things... :D So we had a blast and stayed up till almost 4 and slept in till at least 9:30!!!!

So on Valentines Day I made shortbread cookies in shapes of hearts and iced them!!! They were really good!! Who knew butter, flour and sugar could be soooooo good!?!?

Sat. night me and my dad went to go pick up my little sister from a friends house. We ended up staying for dinner!!! It was really good!! When I went upstair to where Millie and Sage were hanging out, Millie thrust some sparkles on me and immediately began giving me a makeover!! The sparkles ended up being really hard to get off, but it was really fun!!

Last night, we had some people over for dinner and that was blast!! We played the Wii and the game Balderdash! It was really fun! We had burritos and they were yummy to the max!! Haha.....

Then my and my sisters watched my new fav. TV show, The Office!! I love Dwight!! And Jim. And Pam. Well Jim and Pam 2gether.... I can't wait till Glee starts showing again, and I CANNOT wait until LOST shows!! Agg! I'm flippin out inside. Sort of. I love Jack and Charlie (he is totally going to come back, i mean with them showing his ring and his guitar in the last season, come on!!). Enough about TV Shows.....

The radio is just so amazing!! You can listen to all your favorite songs all the time!!! I know its been around for a while, I just never used to listen to it, and now that I do, I LOVE it!!

I hear songs I like and then I buy them on iTunes (if I still have money left on my giftcard!) and then put them on my iPod.....Which only has 99 songs!!! Oh well, I'll get there one day! :D

I love this song called Replay by Iyaz!! Its the best!! And I'm starting to like Kelly Clarkson. Some of her songs! I used to LOVE Lady Gaga, but I really think she is insane/crazy so I don't listen to her anymore. (Physco!) So yeah....

I got a Wii for Xmas and I love it!! So far we only have Wii Resort, Sports, and Wii Play.....Our friend is letting us borrow Wario Smooth Moves, which is really strange and creepy but fun. (Weird, I know!?!?!) So I was talking to someone and they said Xbox were 10x better than Wiis! I said that was crazy and Wiis give you excersize. So, they are waaaay better! What do you guys think?

Cross Country

I did cross country last year. I almost did it this year, but it seemed much more competitive than last year so I didn't. Well, I was really missing the fun and exercise so I joined in mid-season. That was a month or two ago. The season ended last Saturday. We had our last meet a Guilford College. It was an easy middle school meet, so it was 1.8 miles. Ugg, I really didn't know how to pace myself since I was in the habit of doing 5K's. My time wasn't the best, so I'm not gonna post it. :) But afterwards we had a party and then I want to a another party with some friends. Wow, two parties in one day. Thats a record! Anyway, my weekend was actually really fun.

We are thinking of doing a winter xcountry team....I hope we do, I would rather do that than swim team. :)

Oh, wait. I left out something about the Saturday meet. It was like 40 degrees. And we have sleeveless jerseys! AND it was windy. I was SOOO cold!!! My mom took me to REI where I got a inexpensive long sleeve to help with the chilly weather. It really helped. I will probably be wearing it a lot if we do winter xcountry.

Also, I want to tell you about my meet Thursday.

It was at Salem Academy. It was really confusing and hard. It was also really cold (5o degrees, give or take a degree). I got a super bad time that day ( i wont repeat it) and went the the wrong way several times. The course could of been a lot easier if they didn't include the hill.

That hill is a form of cruel and unusual punishment. I'm not even kidding you. It was almost straight up. Then when you went back down it, you thought you could of broke your neck. It was scary and hard. I wish I could of taken a picture of it, to show you guys but I didn't.

One guy, who normally got a 16minute 5K got a 21minute 5K. You can imagine what my time was.... :)

Moving on...

One of my first WSYC Concerts is coming up soon! Yay!

It will be to support the Ronald McDonald house! I can't wait!

Also, Halloween is coming up!! Yay, I'm not sure what I will wear though.....

Although I marvel at the sound of rain, hitting the gutters or splashing on to muddy earth, rain always seem to be depressing. Maybe, its not just the rain, more the dark clouds and muddy sidewalks, but whatever it is, it is definitely putting me in a 'down-in-the-dumps' mood. Do you guys ever feel that way?
Something that did cheer me up today, though, was going for a run in Reynolda Gardens. That is a place that can be beautiful in rain as well as on a sunny day. I took the 1 1/2 mile loop around the gardens. You start off in the woods, and the circle around a gorgeous field and then take the road back towards the beginning.

So I ran for fun and also to get out of the house and ALSO (the biggest reason)

is that I have a meet tomorrow and haven't run since Saturday (yikes!).

When we got home, I had a nice cup of hot coco and started my school again.

What am I serious about? Totally serious about getting this awesome new vest I have wanted for like ever!! No, it wasn't winning the lottery or getting a new car, but I thought it was a pretty big deal...I got it a Target for $20 - click here for the link (for some reason, it didn't let me post the pic). I really love it!!!

Ok, not that exciting in the long run....

Something else that is pretty exciting is that I got a BT on my last XC meet!

So that is good.....

Also, I bleached part of my hair (bleaching right now 2) today, and will post pics soon!

My two sisters got the new iPod nano 5th Generation and it is SOOO cooooool!!!

When they come out with a 6th Generation I'll exchange it for my 4th Generation. If they come out with a new one next year, which I'm guessing they will.

Wow, I haven't blogged in three weeks. Not that too many people actually read my blog, just my close friends! So, I entered in this fab giveaway for a free monnogramed bumper sticker. Wow, I can't believe its my 3d week into school already. I'm actually liking parts of it. Spanish is really fun, and my math is going really well. I'm doing Algerbra. Fun fun! its not that bad, I love solving for the unknown!!

So, my last post was about Flutternutter Pie...I love blogging about recipes, I think its really fun - SO, I will tell you about another really nice recipe and it is SO easy! Summit Lemon Squares!! They are really good! Its just a simple shortbread crust (flours, butter, sugar) with a lemon filling (lemon juice, eggs, baking powder - the basics). You bake the crust first and then you put the lemony stuff on top then stick it back in the oven! they are really good!

I haven't made anything from teh Julia Childs cook book yet, but I hope to soon!

Uhh, I found this gorgeous dress at Etc. Consignment Shoppe. Its a really nice consignment store that I'm sure I mentioned before. Its is so pretty! I really wanted to get it, but it wasn't the cheapest thing in the world. I might go back today to see if its on sale. Its really formal but I think I could where to my Grandmas 80th Birthday, its at a really fancy resturaunt and all of our relatives will be there (cousins and everything!). So that is exciting!

I'm starting cross country!! Tonight, in fact. At the beginning of the year, we had decided I wasn't going to do it, but at Mariah's Salem Academy meet, our old coach was there and asked if we wanted to reconsider. We did! So, I'm really glad!! I might even do swim team in October, but I really don't know. My hair like really reacts to chlorine. Its awful!!! I have to braid it or its gets so tangled! Even when I braid it, the loose bits get all messed up and matted. Its so annoying. So if I did swim team I would probably cut off all of my hair. and do like a bob. Or get it styled so that its really cute. But my hair is SO thick and I just dont know what it would be like that short. And i really like it long. I've never had short hair so i just dont know.

Fluffernutter Pie

Flufflernutter Pie. You've probably never of it. I hadn't heard of it till yesterday, when I was flipping through our Marsh-mellow Fluff cookbook. Our good friends were coming over for dinner that night, and I wanted to make something extra special. I had considered making a Strawberry I had baked a week or so ago (it was SOO good!) , Chocolate Pudding, Delicate Cookies, etc. But there was the this cookbook sitting on our shelf that we rarely used. So, I started flipping through it. I came across the pie section and my mouth watered as I read the recipe. I have to make this! I thought....and so I did!

3 hours and 1 grocery store trip later, I had all my ingredients ready and accounted for. Heres what I did. Now listen up, cause this is the good part!

I took 40 Oreos. I repeat, 40 Oreos and crushed them up. I took some melted butter and mixed the two together. After they were mixed up well I put the concoction in two pie pans.

That was the crust. Then slowly cooked (in sauce pan on low) gelatin and 1cup cold water. Let that sit. Then add like 2cup Marshmellow fluff, 2cups peanut butter (creamy) some vanilla and basic ingredients. I mixed it! What a sticky mess this was turning into. Sticky, but delicious!

I let that cool in the fridge for a little while then folded in 2cups of fresh whipped cream. Oh my. Oh my. Does that not sound absolutely divine? Well I thought it sure did. I folded the whip cream in and poured the batter into my two pie crusts. Into the fridge they went to sit for a few hours. They looked so exquisite! I could not wait to dig in!

Alright enough on my little tale about a good recipe. You should really try it and if you want the full recipe just comment and I'll post it.

So this morning I walked with my mom and Grandparents to the Bagel Shop and then got some Starbucks? Ever tried their Shaken Ice Tea? I like the passion kind! Its is SOO good!!

We walked back and came home and now, here I sit typing away at the computer like there's no tomorrow. Well there is tomorrow, and if I don't get all my homework done I 'll be doing all my school tomorrow.

I wanted to sit down at the computer and write a new blog post about some exciting evening I had, or a wonderful new person I met. Or even some interesting news. But nope, sorry guys, nothing interesting today! Just the same ole same ole. Life goes on. Maybe right about now I am supposed to say something inspiring but again, sorry to disappoint you. I'm kind feeling uncreative and not very 'full of ideas' right now. At the end of the week, I feel like I should have completed something, it being the first week of school. Other than a few spanish words. :)

Actually, I haven't been sleeping well ever since school started. I have had nightmares about every night this week (Except Fri. and Sat. night - I prayed and read the Bible before I went to sleep!) In every nightmare, everyone has been really...for lack of a better word, stupid. I'm the only one who knows whats going on and trying to solve the problem. Weird.

Eureka!

Well, not really. I just realized I had something exciting (for me) to say. Lol! I am going to see G.I Joe! Have any of you guys seen it? Tell me what you think!

Hiya!

Well, I started downloading those all of those pictures from the college road trip, but there is over 400 of them so I decided just not to do it!

As the for the cookies...I made one of my favorite cookies recipes today. Simple but absolutely mouthwatering. Its not the baker thats so great, its just the recipe. Chocolate Chip Cookies are SO delicious! I always turn on the stereo we have and listen to WBFJ or another station. It was 12pm request hour, so I called in a requested one of my favorite old songs, Next Thing You Know.

Also, I saw Julie and Julia and the Grand theaters with a couple of my friends! I really love that movie! It was so cute! I am going to buy the Julie Childs Cookbook, the movie really 'inspired' me. I want to start cooking more. Its really easy for me to make dinners and such cause I am home all the time! :)

I got a pair of pink skinny jeans from target yesterday! No, they weren't that gorgeous ruby pink I was looking for, but I really like the pink I got. I wasn't able to get the Zebra striped cardigan, but got two boyfriend jeans for just $5 a pop! Niiiiice!

I was so thrilled!

Wow, when was the last time I posted? I can't even remember! But its nice going back to blogging since I haven't for so long.

Right now, I'm sitting at my moms computer. The computer I normally use is being used by my older sister Madeline. She has being using it all afternoon and evening. College Apps can be really long she is trying to get them done before school starts, Thursday. Right now she is working on a Essay for either Calvin College in Michagan or Wheaton College right outside Chicago. Both of the places are like 12 hrs away but Maddie really likes both of them. She wants to major in archeology and to tell the truth, the state schools aren't offering what she really wants/needs. Madeline, Mariah and me and my mom took a college road trip a week or so back. Mariah and I just came along for the ride - and a fun one it ended up being! We had a blast! Madeline looked at Wheaton and Calvin, Penn State, Franklin and Marshall, and University Mary Washington. Of all of those, Madeline like Calvin the very most. Next on her list was Wheaton. We ended up visiting Washington DC on the way home, which was an absolute blast! Since Im using my moms computer I don't have the pictures from the trip, but I will post them soon....hopefully! But all in all, we had a wonderfull time!

This week I have started school. My mom really filled up my schedual! Im taking a lot of things I'll be taking in highschool, such as Physcal Science, Spanish, Algerbra 1, etc., so that I'll be ready for highschool. I don't know where I'm going yet, but there is a pretty good chance I'll be going to the same school my older sisters are going to. I normally dread school, but this year I'm really enjoying it! So far...i just started Monday! Spanish is really fun!! I already know a few words and can make them into a sentence.

Today, my mom came into my room and said she had bad news. At first, I was really scared. Golly, what was wrong? Thankfully it wasn't a huge deal. Not in the grand scheme of things. But it is really dissapointing.

Last week, I ordered some Ruby Colored Skinny jeans and a Zebra Print Cardigan from Target. I looked for them in the stores but they didn't have my size so I got them online. Today I got an email saying they were sold out and not getting anymore in! I was really frusterated! I really loved those jeans are cardigan!

I hate I couldn't get them, but maybe I'll find them somewhere else! Who knows? maybe I'll strike lucky at Plato's Closet. I don't really believe in luck, im just saying that.... :)

Xmen Marathon

Marvel Rules. I love all of their amazing movies. I've seen a lot of them, but probably not all. Some of my favorites are Spiderman, Iron Man, Hulk, and Batman is pretty good. The Dark Knight was definitely creepy....I've seen other ones, but those are definitely my favorites. Fantastic 4 is just ok...

I've seen all of the Xmen Movies (except for Xmen Origin (Wolverine) and we are sort of having a marathon. We saw #1 last night and tonight were watching #2 and #3. I love those movies, but they can be really gross and graphic.

Winston Salem Childrens Choir had auditions today! I auditioned! I was sooooo nervous, but I sang my song, All American Girl by Carrie Underwood. I really hope they like me and accept me, I love singing! They had me do a lot of other stuff but the main thing was the song.

Kayaking!

Yes! I just got back from kayaking on the New River in North Carolina. It was actually really high since we have gotten a lot of rain lately. Mariah and I had our good friend, Michaela Hall, and Maddie had her friend, Cate Hendren. We had a really nice time. We went about 10 miles and stopped a lot at watering holes and nice beaches. Although I put on a lot of sun screen before we took off, I got burnt to the crisp. Not quite the crisp but pretty burnt.

Farmers Market

Yes, I finally got a booth at the Farmer's Market held in the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds!

Me, and my friend Caroline spilt a table at the Farmers Market and sold handmade jewelry. I mostly sold earrings but I had 3 necklace's. I had been working on making jewelry since September, so its was great to finally get it out and sell it. I sold a lot of it, and made some fairly good money. Supplies are so expensive these days, the money I got barely made up for how much I spent on supplies. Even if I didn't make a whole lot, the experience was worth lots!

Strawberry Pizza Anyone?

Mmmm, sounds good to me! Strawberry Pizza is a perfect dessert for any hot summer day. It is especially scrumptious when washed down with a cool glass of Murphy's Homemade Lemonade.

A delicate shortbread crust topped with Cool Whip and fresh Strawberries and other various fruits.

Ok, enough with commercial gooberness. But that little ad does describe make my mouth water...lol. Strawberry Pizza is basically a shortbread crust in a 9x13 pan or on a pizza pan. Fresh strawberries and blueberries are on the top as well as cool whip or a mixture of cream cheese stuff but we dont usally do the cream cheese stuff cause its so rich.

I'm making it right now....well sort of. I just stuck the crust in the oven. When it comes out and cools I will add the topping. Here is the recipe! You really should try it, it is amazing!

Strawberry Pizza

The bottom layer is a basic shortbread recipe large enough froa 9 x 13 pan.

2 1/4 cups flour

2 tablespoons sugar

3/4 cup butter

Now the above was the recipe, but our family changes it to the following: (both are really good though)

1 1/3 cup flour

1 1/2 sticks of butter (12 tablespoons)

1 cup nuts

(my mom doesn't add this, but I always like to add 2 tablespoon of sugar here!)

Preheat the oven to 300

Combine ingrediants and press into an ungreased 9x13 pan and cook for 20-25 minutes until set. It won't brown so watch it closely.

The Filling:

1 package of cream cheese 8 ounces

1 cup of powder sugar

1 tsp of vanilla

1/1 tsp of salt

2 cups of whipped topping

I really like the cream cheese stuff but since my mom isn't big into rich stuff we just do cool whip. Cool whip is really good 2!

Combine the first 4 until smooth then fold in whipped topping. Once crust is cool, spread mixture over top and refrigerate.

The Topping:

ok, I'm not even going to put the recipes idea of the topping because they use frozen fruit. Yuch! So just add a bunch of fresh strawberries and blueberries and spread them evenly o the cool whip (or cream cheese stuff). And Enjoy!

Memorial Day....what did you guys do for Memorial Day?

I went to some good friends of our house for a picnic. It was really fun!

We had a nice dinner and yummy dessert and played capture the flag. Our team would of probably won, but we had to leave. :)

Garden and Pancakes!

Today I planted part of our garden...well Millie helped out some to. We had gotten the plants 2 days ago, today I finally got them in the ground. Since my dad has been so busy working on the house, us girls are doing the garden. Mostly Millie an me though. We aren't planting much this year...

Here is what were planting:

Lambs Ear

Some mixed greens (i planted these this morning, but I doubt they'll show up)

Oh, for dinner last night I made a breakfast dinner and we had Cottage Cheese Pancakes. They are SOOOOO good! I really dont like Cottage Cheese, but these are the best pancakes I've ever had!

Recipe:

Get ready a large mixing bowl and stir in the following:

4 cups cottage cheese

16 eggs

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup oil

2 cup milk

2 teaspoon vanilla

Mix with electric mixer on low at first, but as batter begins to come together turn speed to high.

Turn skillet on 350 degrees and slowly bake four pancake at a time.

Serves 7-8 people.

Yummy!

Sooo for the Thrift Store part of my post....

My mom was looking for Volunteer Opportunities for us girls this summer.

We found this Christian guy who had opened up a Thrift Store and needed volunteers regularly t help him get stuff out on racks, etc.

Today we went there and were astonished to see what an amazing store it was. The building itself wasnt the best, but the way he had everything organized was amazing. He had signs and everything. Everything was on the hanger the same way. He had a little place to give away free coffee and cookies and such. It was really cool! We are hopefully going to volunteer there regularly and help out this summer. This is where Millie got her pretty blue dress in the photos. By opening this Thrift Store, Tim (the owner) hopes to reach out to people who aren't Christians. Its really great!

Australia, Dakota, and Meals!

I just looked back a my last post and saw that it was titled 'Picture + Tell a Tale Tuesday' or something like that. I totally thought it was tuesday yesterday. Last night, when I was going to sleep I realized that today was tuesday. Wow.

Yesterday was my dog, Dakota, 7th Birthday! We never do a whole lot for his birthday but just get him a few things at the Pet Store. So we drove down to the nearest Pet Store, Pets Supplies Plus, and got him a really meaty ham bone, a couple other bones and a bunch of treats. Of course he didn't understand that it was his birthday but oh well.

Then the craziest thing happened this morning. I got up around 8:15am and saw Dakota lying on the floor. He was completely still. This was really rare. Dakota was always up before me, in fact, he often woke me up.

My voice a whisper, I called his name. He didn't move. A million thoughts rushed through my head. My friends dog had recently died because a bone got caught in her throat. His birthday was yesterday, he was 7, he had grey hairs...but I didn't really think he could of died of old age. We have coyotes out near our hard. He chased after one and sprained a muscle. Was it more than just a muscle?

I quickly ran upstairs. I didn't want to go up to him alone. By now, my heart was beating faster and faster. . I ran a got my older sister, Mariah. I told her how I had found Dakota. I was almost crying. By the time Mariah and I had come downstairs he had slightly raised his head and looked at us. I ran to him stroking his soft fur. "Buddy, you scared me!" I said!

Ok, I know I over reacted but my greatest fear is loss. I've never lost anyone (animal or person) close to me. Thats probably why I'm so scared of it.

Also, it was just when I had gotten up and I was really thinking straight. (hence my over reaction)

Yeah, so I guess that was my tale for Tuesday.

Ok, now for meals.

Since my mom is getting knee surgery in June, I've been practicing making meals for her and my dad for breakfast. Also I making dinner tonight. (in the summer each of us girls will make dinner once a week)

So yesterday, I made my dad a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwhich on a bagel. But it didn't have just bacon, egg, and cheese on it...I also added:

Lettuce

Tomato

Sprouts

Mayonnaise

Mustard (horseradish kind)

And it was on a Everything Bagel.

Yummy!

This morning, I made my dad an omelet. It just had cheese and bacon cause I had no idea what to put on it.

I haven't been able to make many meals for my mom because she gets up so early and goes to the gym and often has car pool duty and today she went to a prayer meeting.

So yeah....about dinner tonight...I have NO idea what to make....

Anybody have any ideas on a simple (by simple I mean not to hard to beginners) , but yummy dinner? Comment and let me know!

Australia. Wowzeers. I don't know who is going to read this part because this is such a long post, but I'm going to write about it anyway.

Australia, starring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman. Sorry about the picture....I couldn't find a cover that didnt have them kissing....

I saw this last night with my family (we had to skip one thing, but other wise it was good). Even though I watched the whole movie, I'm still not quite sure what its about. All I know is that it made me SOB. Like cry to the 10th power.

Here is a basic summary. (it was 3hrs long so this is really simple)

Mrs. Boss, a rich lady from England, went down to Australia where her husband owned a cattle thingy called Farway Downs. When she got there, she found he husband was dead, supposedly killed a 'native' known as King George. (right between these to parts there they (Drover, Nullah, Herself and a couple other people go on this trip to deliver cattle to this ship so they can sell them...this is like half the movie) She decided run Faraway downs and not sell it.

Anyways things happened and she and Drover get separated and Nullah gets taken away. The Japanese (this is set in World War II) send airplanes and bomb places. Drover thinks Mrs. Boss is dead and goes to find Nullah.

I'm not going to finish it because I don't want to spoil it.

Because that was the worst description ever, here is a preview.

Yeah, so i really liked the movie. It was basically a romantic story with some comedy and tragedy and adventure.

Pictures + Telling a Tale on Tuesday

Hey Guys!

Yesterday, me and my mom bought some really great frames to put up in our hallway. We looked through a bunch if old photos to put in the frames. I came across this one:

I scanned it into the computer so I could blog it. I distinctly remember this picture being taken....

We were camping up at Blue Ridge Parkway (i think I was 7 or 8 here) at Doughton Park, our favorite campground. We camped here a lot when I was little. We had a favorite campsite where we camped almost every time. It was really nice, it was on a hill and had a nice view. There was a little group of trees toward the left near a water tower (we loved the water tower).

Millie (my sister) and I loved this tree! We carved our initials into it. Maddie (my older sister) took this picture as we were climbing. Millie and I are both red in the face because we had probably just been playing tag or capture the flag. I really wish the picture was bigger, but oh well.

Sing a Song Sunday and Weekend!

Hey Guys!

Friday, around 4pm my good friend Abigail had me over to her house. I brought some stuff over to sell at their yard sale the next morning. I ended up sleeping over at her house - which was really fun. We got up early Saturday morning at got ready for the yard sale. We (they) sold about everything! It was great that so many people came seeing how the weather was 'if-y'. I sold a few things, including a giant teddy bear I have had for a while. I'll miss him! :P

I actually found a couple of great shirts that were cute.

After the yard sale I helped clean up an then Lauren made us really good smoothies! (thanks Lauren!) We chilled most of the afternoon but we did some picking up of the back porch to get ready for a party today. I stayed till around 6pm! I was with them for like 28hrs! It was a blast, and enjoyed every minute of it! :) Thanks guys! :)

Hey Guys!

I didn't post on yesterday or Tuesday, so now I'm making up.

Tuesday, me and my sister, dog, and my mom went walking at Salem Lake. Mariah and I biked about 7miles. My mom walked the whole thing, she didn't plan on it but she did. It was really nice and fun. Salem Lake is really pretty and shady!

Wow, I'm actually not posting late today! Good for me....

This morning, I got up at 6am and made bfast for my mom. It was a yummy breakfast sandwhich. We are like all out of food at my house but so all that was on it was bread, bacon, mustard, egg and cheese. we didn't have like sprouts or anything.

my mom is getting surgery on her knee in early June, so us girls will need to step up and start making dinner and stuff. Wish us luck! :)

Mopey Mondays

Yes, Mondays are always Mopey to me!

I've just enjoyed a nice refreshing weekend but when Mondays come around, I'm always feel slow and tired because of either a crazy weekend or staying up late on a Sunday night. Probably both.

So....for Mopey Monday....

I slept in this morning (8:30am) and immediately went down to the computer. Not a good habit to start. I haven't been doing a whole lot really this morning. But I did design the pillow I'm going to make for my Granny for her birthday.

Heres my sketch of what I want it to look like:

I know it's not very exciting. The colors and all - but those are my Grannys bedroom/house colors so I think she'll like it.

Soooo hopefully today I will go to Rescue Mission to look at desks for my room. I might go to my favorite consignment store to consign some stuff but I don't know.

In case you don't know what I'm talking about, we've been remodeling our kitchen for quite some time. My dad MADE the counter tops out of concrete! He started making them in Jan. and Wed. Night he put them in! They are beautiful!

27 Dresses and Summer!

Last night, my good friends, Caroline and Abby, came over to my house to watch 27 Dresses!

I love that movie! It is so much fun!

I went to the website (there is a link to it above) and took a quiz to see what my brides maid dress might be....here are the results!

I recommend this movie, but there is one scene that needs to be skipped - other than that, i love this movie!

So, summer is here for here! Its finally here! Maybe not s much weather wise, but school wise .... im out of school! hallelujah!

we are about to have a little family meeting to discuss summer activities.

I made a list:

- sew apron

- sew shirt

- make more jewelry

- run in the morning (train for xcountry in fall)

- maybe take a a martial art (karate?)

- summer sport?

- clean (spring cleaning, organizing - aka clean everything, desk, closet, a lot! :) )

These are like summer goals. I don't make New Years goals because often I can't fulfill them because of school. So now that school is out I make a bunch of summer goals.

School is finally out this Friday! I can't wait for it, but at the same time I'm dreading it. This Friday, I have to do a 7min 30 sec. speech on food in the renaissance....yikes. It may not sound like a lot, but all the speeches I have done have been for my 11 people class....so yeah...

Don't really know what to call this post....I guess its just a little update....

This week has been the same except that Mariah got of of school....for summer break! Wow, I can't believe that! I don't get out till May 1st!

So yeah, she is a lucky duck!

Nothing much is really going on around here - oh wait! I found out the most worst thing yesterday! Mariah, Maddie and my dad are going to Costa Rica - July 10th (i think)19th. Me, Millie and my mom are going to TX to visit family and friends. Thats not the bad part!!

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is coming out the 17th of July!

Gosh! I was planning on going with a group of friends to the midnight showing!! I have never been to a midnigt showing....idk y for the 5th Harry Potter, but for the others i hadnt gotten into Harry Potter yet! That really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really REALLY stinks! I have been looking forward to going to the midnight showing ever since me and my friend talked about it......But i cant have everything :)

Happy Easter Monday! and stargate

Hey Guys!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter! Mine was terrific!!

We went to our church, who had a great service, and listened to the really good sermon. They showed a video at the begining of the service which was really good. I wish I could post it but I cant find it.....

After the service, we (my family) celebrated my sisters 15th bday!!! I burned her a CD of her fav. songs! She also got a river trip, purse, Prince Caspian DVD, gift cards, money, more money and candy oh and her friend gave her a book and someone else gave her some headbands!

So i think she had a blast!

p.s here is my fav. tv show - i made a collage....hey i said i was obsessed!

my favorite character is daniel jackson - the one with the glasses....ok dont get me started.....hmmm it didnt turn out a big as id like but o well....

here are the 4 fav. characters...

yup - thats daniel. he is an archeologist, he knows 27 languages, he can handle a P-90, or pistol, can translate any language, always caring - wants to help people, only fire his weapon is neccssary, hes the very very best!!!

Samantha carter - shes pretty cool! she is oober smart, can handle any kind of weapon, and really really really smart. she helped get the stargate program up and running....

Jack. wow....not much to say here... i love jack - hes fun! hes all about 'we dont leave anybody behind' thing, he can handle ANY, and when i say any i mean it, weapon! hes really awesome - he is the leader of the team.

Teal'c....he gets on my nerves a lot, but he is still really good. he is a jaffa (hence the thingy on the forehead. he is all for freedom from the gouald and stuff!

Twice a year, me and my family take a huge shopping trip to Greensboro!!! normally i find great stuff but lately i havent been so lucky......Saturday, we took this trip and brought along a great friend, Allyson. She found a bunch of really great stuff. Mariah got a few cute shirts and some shorts. AND she got her Prom accessories!! She cant wait! Wow, I really just haven't been posting lately....

I guess I haven't been in the mood! :)

Well, this weekend I went to a shakespeare play with my class, Henry VI.
It was ok, the social part (staying in a hotel, playing in a pool, eating out...etc) was more fun! :P
I had a blast!

While I was on the trip, I picked up some new favorite songs.

Wow - I haven't posted in almost a week!

I guess its just been busy around here...

Well, heres a quicky summary.....

Last week (i think my last post was Home Again!) my family got back and it was really nice to see everyone together and have some nice family time. But I'm still missing something...we haven't watched our favorite TV show in almost a month. Our whole family (minus my mom and dad sometimes) watch this amazing TV show on DVD.....but when everyone was gone for a while we had to post pone our nightly Stargate watching....it was hard. Stargate is amazing! I love it!!! If you have seen it and hate, you have probably seen Stargate Atlantis or Stargate SG-1 Season 8-the end....Stargate Atlantis is pretty good, but it can get cheesy. Now, SG-1 is our favorite...but towards the end of the season it gets really awful....blech! So hopefully tonight, we will watch Stargate!!

Sooo last week I went to Micheals and A.C Moore and got some really cute beading supplies...I love making jewelry!

Friday was co-op.....same ol' same ol' - this friday we are going to the Black Friar Theater in Staton, VA. We're staying overnight in Hotel - nice!

This weekend was really fun - Mariah really good friend, Allyson went shopping with us. Since they are going to the prom together we look at dresses. Mariah already has hers but Allyson needed one and she got a beautiful longish green one - I LOVE IT! she looks so cute in it! :)

SO - for the moment I have been waiting for....my most recent update - the most exciting update, the most thrilling, most fantastic, most- ok i'll stop....but you get the pic - its pretty cool....

We got an iMac!!!!!!!!!! Yay! I'm using it right now! It is unbelieveable!! Its the newest one, we have been waiting for it since xmas! i love it! So far, garage band and Photo booth are my favorite applications - but everything is awesome...

my next post wil be some cool pics i took!

Oh, Saturday night I went to my good friends house for dinner - our whole family did!

It was really fun....we all sat together (Maddie, Mariah, Millie, Lauren, Caroline, Abby and Me) and asked questions. Abby thought up of two really good questions.

1) If we could ask God a question, what would we ask? a few people said they would ask why He took Karis Winters (a 7 year old girl who died recently....we still dont know the cause of her death....). its really hard to anwser that question but i like thinking about it.

2) If Jesus came to your house, would you be a Martha or a Mary? In the New Testament Jesus came to these two sisters house and Martha (i think) spent most of her time cleaning and preparing and being a good host than rather listeing to Jesus. Mary listened to Jesus and did not worry about the house...wow having a clean house for guests is WAY high up on my priority list! I hate having people over when our house is a mess - it drives me nuts!!

So, yeah good questions, eh?

But I better go - my sisters want a turn on the iMac!! :)

Home Again!

Well, more like my family home....

My sister, Mariah, left for a two week vacation(w, her good friend)...oh, about two weeks ago :P and just got back today!! Yay! I missed her so much! She's my roomate so its weird sleeping alone in my room...i like having people to talk to.

My other sister, Maddie, left for a Spring Retreat last Friday and got back Sunday - but I didn't see her Sunday....She stayed at my Grandparent's house until today....because....

...My dad and my mom left friday afternoon to celebrate their 20th Anniversary in a cabin in Boone. THEY got back today too....

SO - it was just Millie and me with my Granny....its been really nice and relaxing!

Yeah, so everyone got back today - having them gone makes you really appreciate them (family) and I am SO glad to have them back....all of us together!!

So thats my little update....oh - we are finally getting our iMac!! It was our xmas present but we were waiting for the new one to come out.....yay!!

Hey Guys!

It seems like lately I haven't been posting as much or reading posts...i don't know why, i guess we have just been pretty busy around here.

This weekend my parents went to a cabin for their 20th anniversary. it was our gift to them....they are staying until tuesday - i hope they have a blast!

I have stayed mostly with my Granny this weekend but I went to my friends house all day Sat. and sleptover at another friends house Sat. Night. It was really fun!

My two older sisters are elsewhere...:) Maddie is at a retreat (well she left Fri. and got back this afternoon) but she will stay with my Grandma and Grandpa until Tues.

Mariah is still relaxing at the beach until Tuesday - I am SO envious!! :)

So me & Millie are just hangin' which is awesome.

Tonight I am making Mac and Cheese - from scratch AND on the stove in a pot. i've nvr done it like this but i hope its good....(im making up my own recipe :P)

Wow, Spring is just around the corner!!! I can't beleive it - it got up to 72 degrees yesterday!! Perfect for riding a zipline across a cool pond and getting DRENCHED! it was really fun!!

(my friend maria invited me over sat.) this warm weather is amazing - its better cheesecake!! ( i love cheesecake)

So moving on....

I got a bathing suit form Marshalls the other day...i need one for a feild trip i am going on with my class - its in a week or two...i cant wait!

Snow Day!!!!

Since I live in NC we don't get snow much. At least GOOD snow. Maybe a 1/4 of inch every year....just sprinkles. So when we get even a 1/4 inch we get syked...at least I do....

Today we got 4 inches! Did you get that? I'll repeat it! 4. inches. four. inches. WOAH!

For us north carolinians this is a big deal!! wow did i have a blast.

I sledded this morning for a really long time but once you get soaked thats it....no changing clothes, no getting cleaned up, no getting warm BECAUSE every time we get snow we lose power. Big time.....we are on well water to so that really stinks because we can't flush the commode...i wont go into details....yulckh!

So we normally go to Grandma's house - which we did.....but the power came back on way faster thean Duke Power predicted....haha they said it would be back on at 5pm TOMARROW! The 3d! that would stink.... but thankfully they finished it in the early afternoon. When we got back from our G&G's house I made two snowman.....

But I was really starting to feel bad so I came inside and me and my family watched Room with a View it was really intresting - i like it (4th time i've seen it) but my sisters like it more than I do.....my stomach has been cramping so it felt good to lay on the sofa....but i hope i feel better by tomarrow or wednesday...:)

Oh this morning (around 7am) me and my sister Maddie went and took pictures of the snow...

When we went sledding we took some videos - they aren't very good but whatever.....

Mimi-Update#9....remodeling, beehives....

Wow, this week has pasted really quickly! Since I was off one week from school, it was really fun to go to my Friday class yesterday...I'm really social. It was pretty fun but a little exasperating. I won't go into details....

Today, our Pastor from our church is coming to pick up our beehives. I think we're giving them to him.....Not to happy about this - I LOVE our beehives! I love helping get the full honey combs out and getting in my bee suit and all of that good stuff. and I love the honey. But my dad said since he is too busy remodeling the kitchen he isn't going to be able to work on them this year.....SO that kinda stinks.......

Here are some pics of the kitchen in process.....Oh were also making our own counter tops so yeah....

So I really can't wait until we are finished.....after we are done with our kitchen we are going to put a front walkway in and a nice new deck. THEN we will re-paint our rooms.

Hopefully, this will all happen this summer! :)

Mimi-Update#8 and Zebra Fabric

Hey Guys!

For the past two weeks I have been helping out my church by taking care of 3year olds during the Women's Bible Study. Its every Tuesday...so yesterday I went again. Instead of doing 3year olds they needed me in the infant room. Ohh man! I'm really not good with infants - I'm best with 2-8 yr olds!! There isn't really much to say because I mostly just sat there and sorta played with them...yeah...SO -

Last night, I went to a open house at the highschool I will probably be going to in one year. Going to the highschool made me really excited about going there!

Oh, I found some REALLY cute zebra print fabric on sale the other day - BUT I don't know what to make with it.....I've been looking and looking through patterns.....I found one or two I'd like to share with you! :)

Mimi-Update#7 - No, more like 'Prom and Style'

Mondays are so depressing....at least for me. I've just had a wonderful weekend and now its gone!! Just like all vacations...

Ok, moving on...!!

My sister got her prom dress Saturday!! Before I get into details of the dress, I want to share a little story:

"Hey mom, do you think Mariah could wear that dress on the mannequin to prom?", I asked her curiously. "Sure", She replied, "Have her try it on!" Mariah was using the restroom at the time, so I waited for her to get out before I got it of the stand. Before I knew it, another lady was taking the beautiful dress and trying it on. hmph! I thought to myself. I carefully stalked the lady - watched her as she looked in the mirror - I knew she loved the dress but she didn't know if she wanted to buy it. That was Mariah's dress. It was perfect for her. Thankfully the lady did not buy the dress and returned it to the front desk. I pulled Mariah over and showed her the dress - of course, she loved it!!! Since Mariah is oober shy I went up to the desk and asked the ladies for the dress. I made Mariah try it on and come out of her dressing room. Mariah hardly ever comes out of her dressing room to show anyone - but this was really cute and I needed all the support I could get from fellow customers, staff and family(so they would encourage her to purchse it). After much consideration, Mariah bought the dress.....for only $16!! She was really happy!! Every so often she tries the dress on and dances around - she is so excited about prom!!! I am going to do her makeup and help her find accessories! I cant wait!!!

Sorry the pics aren't great - she didn't like me taking pics....

Oh, and the shoes - well those are mine (just for fun) she is practicing wearing high heels, she has never worn them before! Oh, and i have to mention this - isn't she gorgeous?!!?(her legs are so long)I love her so much!!! I just feel really bad for her sometimes because she spends 90% of her time doing school and the rest of the 10% is drivers ED studying and going to church(wed. nights and sun. mornings) At last, she gets to have the night of her life - prom! She cannot wait!! I think i mentioned this earlier but when she gets fed up with school she will put on her heels and her dress and practice walking and dancing!! she is so excited!! she's a great sister!!

But anyway, today I'm basically off of school. You see, we were given one weeks worth of homework to do in TWO weeks - I did MOST of mine last week but I still have to finish my papers. Yes, plural. I have three papers I'm working on, which isn't to bad - we just normally one or two.

Ok, so I have bee thinking of changing my blog name - I just don't know what to change it to....I might have mentioned this in a earlier post but I don't really know what my style is. I wanted to incorperate my style in to my blog title but I don't quite know how. I like some of the stuff my friends like - their into retro and vintage. Some of its really cool, but I can't pull it off or its just not me. My family is really encouraging in this either...haha....they just wear whatever (which isn't bad) and think that I shouldn't have a 'style' or whatever. SO - I took (cause I've had a lot of time on my hands lately) a billion 'What's YOUR fashion style'? and combined them and found I'm a classy chic. AND I should dress like (or do dress like) Nicole Kidman. Her named popped up several times. So here are some pics of what I might like (according to the tests):

Hey Guys!!

Wow - yesterday morning I could barely get up....my legs are killing me!! Its from the ice skating im sure - but wow.....ouch.....

So, yesterday I saw Confessions of a Shopaholic.

I LOVED it!!! It was so cute!!! I loved most of her clothes but I don't like the way she combined them....this movie makes me want to go out and shop! Haha....anywho - i recommend it! It was really cute!

After the movie, I went a youth church service with a friend. Its called Verge. I really enjoyed it - it was really fun!!

Hey Guys!

Wow, I woke up this morning - I am SO sore from yesterday's workout!!

Today was really fun though, I went ice skating this afternoon!

It was my first time ever, I was really excited!

Here is a little story of my time:

"Good!", I thought, seeing that we (me and my two sisters) were the first ones here. I had time to practice before everyone got here - i'd never ice skated before and I hate embarrassing myself....it happens to often! I grabbed my skates from the rental area and headed for the benches. Tying them on, I realized how nervous I was. I carefully stood up and walked into the icy area. Grabbing on the sides of the arena I cautiously begin to slowly move my away across the ice. I was surprised to find that in only two laps, I was ready to fly around the arena. To me, ice skating wasn't any different from rollerblading! I rollerblade a lot, so - so far this seemed pretty simple. Soon, people began filing in the big door and skating on the slippery ice. Some girls from my class were there, I didn't really skate with them - when I skate, I like to go at my own speed....not feeling pressured to slow down or speed up. I lapped them several times :P. As the day went on, I was really getting the hang of it!! Since I had never ice skated before, I wanted to skate as much as possible before we had to leave. Two things held me from accomplishing this.

#1 - I got HUGE blisters on both of legs...from the skates. They hurt really bad - even with band aids on them. So every-so-often I would take TP and stuff in in my skates to keep the skates from pushing on my blisters.

#2 - This little girl walked up to me when I was changing my 'TP' and asked for some help. I asked her what kind of help she needed....she wanted me to hold her hand the rest of the time. I had no idea who she was but i decided to help her.....I know this sounds mean - but I hate going slow....it kills me....so when we had done a good 6 laps I asked if she was OK. She said she was and so I began to skate again. Well, I guess she wasn't ready. She asked for my help again and I ended up helping her for the rest of the time. (only 1hr). SO that kinda stunk cause i nvr go ice skating but oh well!

BUT all in all - ice skating was a blast!! i had so much fun!!

So thats pretty much what I did today - I'm really glad its the weekend though!

OH! tomorrow i'm going to see 'Confessions of a Shopaholic'!

I can't wait!

Hey Guys!

Wow, today was really great! I accomplished a few of my goals!!

Goal #1:

I did my homework for school today - even though I have next week to work on it.

Although I just did History/Civics and some Language Arts, I felt really good about it!

Goal #2:

I went to running club - although I really really hate it.

I got a really good exercise which is great!

Goal #3:

I had my great friends come with me to running club - Abby , Caroline and Maria (she doesn't post at all but I made her make one anyway :P)

So, all in all, I've had a pretty productive and satisfying day!!

Tomorrow I hope to ice skating....for the first time!

I can't wait!! I've never been - i love to rollerblading but I have never been ice skating, i hope its fun!

One last thing - I am going to change my blog name....I don't really like it - its good for an email but not for a blog name.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hey Guys!!

Wow, this week has been really slow...but fast! I can't believe its Wednesday already!! Although each day seems long, the week seems to fly by like...idk a....bird...(sorry i'm bad a similes!) Yeah, it sounds confusing but thats what it feels like!

All this week I have just been chillin' out. I am off of school, so its really nice! I've been working with my hands on making a skirt for my sister and working on my jewelry junk. Here is a pic of one pair of earrings I made:

They were actually pretty simple! I I needed was an earring back, the wire, and of course the bead. The swirl is 20gauge wire that is hammered. I love the flat, hammered look!!

Tonight, I went to my Wed. Night Youth Group and choir. It was pretty fun....I meet with my mentor for a class I'm taking every Wed. night after youth group. I really enjoy hanging out and talking with her, its really fun!

Wow, this isn't much of an update.....but this week hasn't been that exciting....

Oh, one last thing - I got this really cute shirt at Goodwill, so here it is:

Oh, and we changed my beds into bunk beds today, so here are pics of my revised room:

Hmm....my room is yellow and flowery. its not really my favorite. When we are done remodeling my kitchen I am going to paint my room. I think it will be a nice green. I'd like to get zebra print throw pillows for my bed, but i dont know what color mattress I want. i dont really know WHAT i want for my room - i change my mind a lot!

I love bright colors, but also natural colors. so yeah idk......

Hey!!

Wow, I just got back from Tuesday morning women's Bible Study. I think I told you about it last.... Thankfully, last week I learned my lesson and had 'Circle Time' AFTER lunch. We talked about the Good Samaritan and made certificates for moms that said, "I will clean my room!" or "I will set the table!" and even, "I will feed the dog!". Most kids chose "Feed the Dog" even though they didn't have dogs....:P When I asked for prayer requests half of the kids want to pray for 'play' - i guess this is a hint they wanted to be done with circle time!!! But it was really fun and since we helped out we get gift certificates. (not 'Set the table' ones :P). The lady in charge (Shelia Spaar) asked if we wanted Old Navy or Walmart giftcards. I hardly ever find anything at Old Navy and its not really my best style so I chose Walmart....maybe I'll find something groovy there - idk.....

Oh, last night we watched the City of Ember. I LOVED it!! It was really good!! I highly recommend it!

Hmmm, it feels like its been awhile since I've posted - but idk.

Well, a few things have been going on around here...

I'm off of school!! YES!!

For some random purpose, I got a whole week off of school!

So, today, I went shopping in the morning. I gathered a bunch of nice summer clothes (that I bought with my own money) and gave them to Etc - the best consignment store ever!

They took most of them, but didn't take my swimsuit rash-guard, a old navy tank and skirt. Oh well - they took the rest which was about 5-7 other shirts and skirts.

I went to A.C Moore too! We had a 50% off coupon so I got some new jewelry pliers (i lost my old ones....) and a huge multi-picture frame. (I'll tell you what it is for in a sec....). We (my mom and my younger sister) went to Goodwill to!! I found this REALLY cute black/white shirt with some red on it! It was like 3 bucks and in really good condition!! We also went to Costco for groceries and Coldstone. I had an old free 'Like It' coupon. But since it was old it said you had to be 12 and under to use it so I gave it to my sister. She let me have some though! :)

So we came home and I got to work on some jewelry.

My mom had picked up a wire jewelry book at the library last week so I looked at the pics (I HATE reading instructions so I just look a photos and do it) and made some really cute earrings!!! Their not quite finished so I can't post pics till later.

So the multi-pic frame I got from A.C Moore is for my 'new' bedroom. We're switching room-mates/bedrooms. I have 3 sisters in a 3 bedroom house. So I share a room with my sister and now we're switching - just for change. I will be rooming with Mariah in the purple room. This really kinda stinks for me cause I have had the yellow room for a while. In the yellow room I have a window bed and a nice walk in closet. But in the purple room I'm having bunkbeds a cramped closet. But I really want to be with Mariah so yeah....

Hopefully, when our family is done remodeling our house, I will paint my room green or blue. Maybe multicolored. And one wall will be chalk/magnetic paint - i love that stuff.

Oh, so I have a few prayer requests:

My Granny (shes lives right down the road) isn't doing to well. In the fall, she started experiencing really MINOR all timers. Well, not even all timers...just her memory was bad - for little things. Now, she's under great stress. My aunt, who is really mentally ill, is having some problems and...well is going to court in March. My Granny is getting really stressed over this - when she gets stressed she gets kinda sick and exhausted. So with her memory (there are other things too....just can't recount them now) and the stress she not doing well at all. We are considering living assistance or something. Its where she stays in a apartment complex with other people (kinda like a nursing home). Like there would be group meals and she would be taken care of - just in case. We don't know if we will do this...its all up to the LORD.
My Grandpa (not my Granny's husband....he died years ago) has prostate cancer and he isn't doing well. He doesn't know Christ so that makes it really hard if anything happens..

Ok, I'm getting a little better with my titles....! :)

Wow, I have a lot to tell you - i'll start with Thursday.....

Thursday morning, I worked at least 4hrs on my friends 13th bday present, a photo/scrapbook album with pics of us when we were really little. I put scrapbook paper and stickers in it - its really cute....if i do say so myself! So at about 12pm I went to my friends(it was her bday) school, picked her up and took her to Panera Bread for a yummy bday lunch!! There, I gave her the album i had made. I think she really enjoyed!!! But her lunch time wasn't to long so soon we took her back to her school and left for running club.

I think I mentioned running club in a earlier post - its a little off-season, non-competitive cross-country team. Ugg - its really annoying sometimes. But one of my other friends who did xcountry with me in the fall was there so it was 10x more fun... (normally i'm the only girl so its really nice to have a female running w. me!) :P Well, *cough cough* i ate a whole lot at Panera....I dont go there much so i had my full! :) hehe anyways so running club wasnt fun. I was spending to much energy on digesting my food so running was hard. then the food decided it was just like to out of my mouth then work really hard on digesting...if you catch my drift. but i was able to keep it down until i finished running! yay me! haha im kidding.

After the club, I went with my friend (running buddy) to her house. we rode on her awesome new zipline across the pond - it was a blast!!! Even though it was chilly we got drenched in water!!! I had SO much fun! i love ziplines!!!! I wish i took pictures but i forgot!

around 5:50pm i went home, had dinner, blah blah and went to bed.

TODAY i went to my friday co-op. it was actually not to bad - i had fun. I did (for speech) a story...."The Tale of the Three Trees" - i practiced really well at home but when i got up in front of my class and teacher i was nervous and did not do well on my speech. :(

but its fine.....

when i got home from school i had my mentor for Communicants Class over and we had our little discussion/bible time. it was really nice. then we went to our youth leader's house for a Middle School girls party. it would of been more fun if i wasn't allergic to cats. She had one and i had a hard time breathing, my nose.neck.throat.eyes. all itched and my eyes got puffy. but otherwise it was really fun. everyone brought a pizza topping and we made home-made pizzas - it was really yummy!!!!

I got home 15minutes ago - now im just checking my email and reading blogs. Im so glad its the weekend! I have no idea what im doing for Valentines day though - sooooo yeah.....

So everyone had a happy weekend and great Valentines day!!

Hey Guys!

Tomorrow, is my best friends b-day, Abby.

I can't wait - I'm taking her out to Panera Bread during her school lunch hour!

I'm going to give her the my present then....I can't tell you what it is cause she might read this. :)

Wow, this is really exciting!! We've known each other for like 11 years - and always have been best friends. Its great having a friend in Christ, to be able to share the everything with her, and so much more!!

Ok, so for the update part.....

Today I helped out at the Funeral at our church - i heard some of the Funeral through the speakers in the ceiling, but the volume was dis-combobulated so it was hard to hear. Although I did not really know Karis (the young girl who passed away) just reading the bulletin and hearing a few speeches just makes me want to cry! In the bulletin there was a beautiful poem, I wish I could share it with you, but I lost my bulletin and its not on the website.

I feel for her parents - I know its really hard for them to understand why God would take their girl when she was so young. Please lift their family up in your prayers when you think of it!

Well, after the funeral my granny took me out to lunch to subway - but i couldn't eat cause I got my braces tightened yesterday and my teeth are sore.....so this afternoon i had abby over and that was nice!! Also we went to Five Guys (best burger place in the WORLD!!!!!!!!!!) for dinner - we went with our other Grandparents!!! That was really nice too....

ahhh.....i'm tired....and tomorrow i have to get up pretty early (we leave a 7am) to go to my moms class - she teaches Algebra 1 at forsyth tech....I have to go with her cause i'm going to lunch with my friend....long story...blah blah.....

oh also - i'm going to my friends house (tomorrow - after running club* and lunch) who just got a zipline put over their pond - I CANNOT WAIT!!! :)

*running club is like non-competitive cross country all-seasonal....so its nice!!!

Hey!

You've probably noticed I'm really bad at naming my blog posts.....ok...OT....

Anywho, Yesterday was a lot of fun in a weird way.

I stayed home all day and did school till about 3pm. I was kinda bored so I got on the computer....made hot coco (yes, even though its BEAUTIFUL out!:P)...and sewed up my sisters dress. It used to be my dress, I got it at a yard sale last year - its really to big, wide in the waist so I passed it down to Millie. Of course it was way to big for her, but she loved the dress (cause its long, white with yellow, pink, light pink and orange hearts all over - very valentiny) so I took in the waist so its fits her now. The neck line was really 'tightish' (too close to her neck - not that cute....) so I took that in and hemmed it and stuff. After that, I was kinda on a roll. I decided to make her a skirt too. I got some really cute white fabric and measured her waist and cut out a skirt. I cut elastic out too and pinned it all up. BUT I don't know how to thread a sewing machine. Our isn't threaded so I have to wait for my mom to help me. She's been really busy lately so she hasn't had the chance. But when I'm done sewing on it, I'm going to cut out some cute yellow, blue, green, purple and pink fabrics and designs some flowers and butterflies on the skirt - so thats exciting. Oh, this is the FIRST time I haven't used a pattern so thats is even MORE exciting - yay me...

Yeah, so today I was gone from 8:20am-12pm babysitting for Tuesday morning bible study at my church. It was actually really fun - Millie and I (with a college student) took care of the three year old room. We mostly played but had snack and circle time. Since the college student who helped wasn't a Christian, I read the bible story, took prayer requests, and talked about God and the story. I read the 'Jesus Feeds the 5,000 story - it was really fun. I did make a mistake though. I gave them snack WHILE we had circle - BAD IDEA. For one, when I try to discuss/talk with them(their already hard to understand cause their little), their mouths are filled with food and you can't understand a thing they say. Second, they are interrupting a lot asking for, 'MORE' - of course. So when I took prayer requests I heard a lot of, "Please pray for mydfjahjfkhdkjhlk and hjdfgauywiuhj blahblah" so yeah that was hard. So I did a lot of, "Father, please bless these children and their families and friends!" Which isn't bad, I just thought it was kinda funny!

Oh, and we (it was my idea - again 'yay me'....im kidding!)made valentine (hearts) cards for their moms and family/friends. That was really fun! I really hope (I'm going to be going and helping out at this thing for a while) that some of the Bible stories we read will help lead Yea Lang (idk if i spelled that right) to Christ - that would be really amazing.

Also, today I went to the Orthodontist to get my braces colors changed - fun fun....and then I went to A.C Moore and got some supplies for scrapbooking. They are having a 40% off sale for all scrapbook paper!! So that was fun.....

Tomorrow is Karis Winters funeral. I'm babysitting for the funeral (at the church) cause there is going to be a lot of people there. I really wanted to go to the actual funeral but God wants to use me helping with children so thats fine...

Dakota Bear

Hey All!

I want you to meet the love of my life....Dakota Bear. Haha, I'm half kidding.

Dakota Bear is my lovable Australian Shepherd. A red try. He is 6yrs old and one of most crazy and wonderful dogs in the world. Of course in my perspective.

Ahh - he is beautiful. GORGEOUS. His reddish brown fur, white chest, pink nose, and carmel eyes are to die for! Almost....he has a naughty side too.

Soooo here is a list of things I love about him.....and things I don't like about him - just to give you guys an idea of his personality.

Naughty List:

1. He barks a lot - like at anything that moves. Actually, since he has gotten a bit older he doesn't bark as much as he used to - but his favorites are still cars and birds. :)

2. He would to absolutely anything for.....beef. I think thats his true love (which is depressing) - a cow. I mean cows aren't THAT great...seriously. :P

3. I can't really decide if this is good or bad - he only ALWAYS listen to one person - my dad. he listens to me but not like he listens to my dad.

4. His 3d favorite food is fish food. I have to keep my fish food is a secure draw so he doesn't get into it! One time, I left it out on accident and he tore it open and ate the whole thing. YUCK!! And, of course, I house smelled REAL good after that.....

5. Apart from barking, one of his hobbies is well....animals.... His greatest enemy is a skunk. I hate to say it, but he's put down 2 in his life. And smells really bad afterward....you can't imagine....

Nice List:

1. He has the softest fur ever - and its fairly long. I love to pet him and rest my head on his back.

2. He's a good listener and secret keeper. I can tell him what I bad day I'm having, and he doesn't peep a word. :) He just sits there and looks at me with those gorgeous eyes.

3. He protects me....our family. He would do anything to keep us safe - even from the mailman.

4. He's beautiful. Period. (that makes up for a lot of his 'sins' :P)

5. In the morning, he will sneak into my room and lick my face, urging me to get up. Thats like the best way ever to wake up in the morning.

I could really go on and on about him, but you guys would probably throw up in the end or something SOOOOO - i'll stop about now. :P

Weekend

Hey Guys!

Well, not a whole lot happened this weekend. Yesterday turned out to be really boring! I wasn't able to to with my friend to her Grandma's house but thats fine. The skating rink I had been planning on going to was closed or something. So we just did nothing, fun right? Yeah so Saturday wasn't really fun.

Today, I went to my church, Redeemer Presbyterian. I love my church!!! One of the best words to describe it is....well the opposite of a traditional church. People come to worship as a congregation, we're really laid back and can dress however we like. I love our Pastor, Hunter Dockery. He always does a great job preaching, its easy to follow along and pay attention. Here is the link to the website: http://www.redeemerws.org/home/home.php.

Today, at church, I learned about a tragedy that occurred Friday. One of the families at our church

daughter died Friday. Her name is Karis Winters, age 7. She just died, they have no idea why. Even

after an autopsy they still could not find the reason for her sudden death. So when you think of it, please

pray for her family, especially her younger sister Olivia (5yrs) who probably is really confused.

Well, to end this post with not such a depressing topic, I'll tell you guys a little bit more about my day. :)

First, it is beautiful out!!! The weather is great! It's 60+ degrees out, theres a cool breeze and a warm sun.

This is rare for mid-February, but I'm lovin' it! In fact, when I go to my weekly Communicant's Class,

I'm going to wear my nice capris and a t-shirt! I can't wait till summer! :)

Oh, Communicant's Class is a class our church provides on Sunday nights that encourages 7th-8th graders to

join the church. You don't HAVE to join the church at the end, but the book (we're doing) talks about the faith.

I'm already a member, but I'm taking just to go a little deeper, to grow in my relationship with Christ.

I love the class, and I think it's really helpful!

Oh, after church our family went to Panera Bread! Everyone got soup bowls, but I stuck with a bagel and cheese. I went to Panera thursday and got a soup bowl so I wanted something else!

I LOVE PANERA!! Its so good!! yumyum!!

My dad had to leave Panera shortly 'cause he's training in D.C this week - until this Sat.

OH guess what? We also went to the Mall and A.C Moore Craft Store today! I got (at the Mall) this really cute purse I've wanted for like EVER! so thats really fun!

And I got my friends birthday present - but I can't tell you 'cause she will probably read this!!

Acutely, mine has brighter blue handles its shape is different but this is pretty close!

Oh, and when we were at Dollar General I found this really cute Valentine Tiger - I'm going to give it to my class doorprize thigy - so that will be fun.....

AND (sry its a long post) when I was at A.C Moore I got some really cute scrapbooking supplies....and a present! :P But don't worry Abby, I didn't get you supplies or anything! :)

Friday Co-op, Valentines Day, and blah.... :)

Ahh....the weekend is here!! Yay!

Today, like ever Friday, I went to my middle school home school Co-op. I made an annocment during opening for next Friday. I organize the fun activities at our school. Like Pajama Day, Sundae Day, funky hair day....etc. So since next Friday is the day before Valentines day, I am having a mini door prize! Everyone will bring one small gift (chocolate, candy hearts, truffles, etc) and put it on a table, then I will draw a name out of a hat, pick an item up and hand it to that person(who I pulled out of the hat!!). So I'm pretty excited....

Other than Friday Co-op Valentine door prize thingy, I don't think I'm doing anything else for Valentines day - which really stinks. Hopefully, I'll do something with my best friends (a nd sister)family. We try to do something every year. I'll probably send my friend in Greensboro some chocolate, get my sisters something special and my mom some flowers!

Its hard celebrating holidays around here now because we are remodeling or kitchen. We moved into our downstairs which has a table, sink and fridge. But its hard to cook and stuff. Thankfully, we recently got our stove installed upstairs, so all we need is a cooktop and counter space and things would be much easier!

Ah, as I said before I am SO glad its the weekend! The thing is, I don't know what I'm doing this weekend! I MIGHT might go to my friends Grandma's house with her but I don't think so. Or I'll go ice skating, but I don't know. But anywho - everyone have a happy weekend!

Skiing for the First Time!

Hey!

For my 13th birthday(December 24th), I got a skiing trip from my parents.

Today, I went skiing with my dad for the first time!

We got up at 5:30am and hit the road around 6am. By 8am we had reached our destination - Sugar Mountain! Since this was the first time I had skied, I didn't have good clothes to wear...thankfully my best friend (family) lent me some snow pants.

I had skiing lessons and by noon I was ready for the real slopes (bunny hill can get really tiring!).

But we had to eat lunch first - we went to a nice restaurant in Banner Elk, a town nearby.

I got the best burger I have had in like FOREVER!!! Smokehouse burger - SO good!

So when we got back, (from lunch) I did two other slopes - Easy Street and Little Nel. They were easy but for a beginner it was the most fun experience ever! Today was the best birthday present ever! Hopefully, we are going to make this an annual trip!

Superbowl Review!

Hey Guys!

Last night, for the Superbowl, I went to my Grandparents house. It was a blast, we had bucket loads of candy, chocolate cake, root beer floats, and more!!

Here is my little review on the game! (im not a big football fan at all, but this is always big thing for me)

Pittsburg had a nice first half of the game. They scored 17 points by the end of the first half.

In the last seconds, James Harrison (a defense) made a interception and made a stunning 100 yard touchdown! The longest play in Superbowl history! This must of gotten Harrison's adrenaline up, because during the second half he executed a few fouls. In the beginning fourth quarter the score 20-14(i think) in Pittsburgs favor. Then, when almost all hope was lost for Arizona, Larry(i think!)Fitzgerald scored a touchdown at 3 minutes!!! The score raised to 20-23 in Arizonas favor!

That was the game....at least thats what everyone thought. But no, at (approx.) 35 seconds Pittsburg scored a touchdown.

THAT was the game! I really wanted to Cardinals to win - stink.....

Commercials:

The Weekend is here..... finally! :)

Wow - the week has passed by SO quickly! It seems just yesterday I was celebrating Christmas...yikes.....why does time pass so quickly?

Yesterday, at my Friday co-op, I had a speech presentation.

The assignment was to teach/show the class how to create something. I shared with the class how to make rings and earrings with wire.

I forgot/lost my jewelry pliers, so that slowed my presentation down but otherwise I think it went well, and I had fun!

Making rings and earrings with wire is really simple and fun - here is my 'speech'/directions so you can try it out!

Hi! My name is Miriam, and welcome to my jewelry presentation!

Today, I will be showing YOU how to make wire rings and earrings.

Lets start with the rings.

Their actually really simple and easy to make, all you need is beading wire(20 gauge works best), chapstick, beads and jewelry pliers.

Let's get started!

I'm going to start by cutting a fairly lengthy piece of wire. The distance depends on the size of bead you have, since I have a larger bead I'm going to need more wire. Now, I'm just going to thread the bead to the middle of the wire, fold the ends of the wire down and place it on the tube of chapstick. Anything cylinder and about the size of your finger works, I found chapstick works pretty well for me.

Now wrap the wire around the tube so you have a nice sturdy band, take the remaining wire and wrap it around the bead to give it that 'classy' look!

Pop the ring off the chapstick, trim the ends so they don't stick into your finger, and there you have it! A ring.

The earrings are almost as simple. For them, all you need is beading wire(same 20 gauge), a marker, earring backs, and jewelry pliers. I'm just going to cut two 3inch pieces of wire. (Since I already have one spiral - you need three spirals) Take the first piece of wire and wrap it around the lid of the marker to make a full circle. Take the remaining part and wrap it around the inner circle of the marker lid. Pop it off and you should have a semi-spiral. Tweak the wire so that you have a nice, smooth spiral. Tuck the tail of the wire underneath the upper layer so that it is hidden. Do the same with the other piece of wire. Now fasten the two together (like you might fasten a keychain) and then fasten them to the 'already made' spiral.

The last step is just fastening these three spirals to your earring backs(there should be a small hoop you can attach the spirals to). There you have a three spiral earring, it's that easy!

Wire is great for all kinds of jewelry, from earrings to rings, and from bracelets to neckless'. It's fun, creative, and fairly inexpensive.
